This Friday night an elite line up of races will light up the Moonee Valley track including the $200,000 Group 3 JRA Cup (2040m) where the winner will earn a penalty for the upcoming Group 1 Caulfield Cup.

The 2010 Tatts Group JRA Cup has attracted a 14-horse capacity final field with many of the top entries heading towards a run in the 2010 Caulfield Cup on October 16 including the Bart Cummings-trained Precedence.

Precedence is currently equal fourth favourite in the Caulfield Cup betting markets, but is still well down the order of entry for the $2.5million race at equal 42nd, and will attempt move up the ballot Friday night jumping from barrier eight with Blake Shinn aboard.

Other horses well down the order of entry for the Caulfield Cup lining up in the JRA Cup include the David Hayes-trained Extra Zero (27th), Lloyd Williams consistent Galileo gelding Linton (29th), Above Average (34th), Persian Star (42nd) and Stocks Stakes winning mare Avienus (46th).

The other notable JRA Cup runner is defending champion Alcopop drawn ideally in barrier four.

The marquee race at Friday night’s meeting is the Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) featuring boom sprinter Hay List, while other features worth a punt on include the Group 2 Stutt Stakes (1600m) and the fillies-only Group 3 Champagne Stakes (1200m).
